Guidelines for Businesses
BXB helps you connect with customers looking to support black-owned businesses. Our platform enables you to easily showcase your offerings and gather valuable feedback - giving you the tools to drive better consumer experiences.
Who can and can’t write a review
Only customers with a recent, authentic interaction with your business should leave a review. Interactions are not limited to purchases; they can range from phone calls, online transactions, store visits, or any other interaction with your business.
To maintain the credibility of our platform, owners, their immediate family, and employees are not allowed to review their own businesses. Reviewing competitors is also off-limits.
Inviting reviews
Encourage reviews in a manner that is impartial and unbiased. If desired, you can ask reviewers to provide a reference number to verify their interaction.
Offering incentives, such as discounts or gifts in exchange for reviews, is prohibited.
Reviews should not be collected on the spot at your business location using your devices without BXB’s prior approval.
Maintain authenticity
Fake reviews are not allowed. We take authenticity seriously and will promptly remove any suspect reviews.
Engaging with unfamiliar reviewers
Reviewers have the liberty to choose their usernames. If you don't recognise a reviewer, initiate a conversation or let us help verify their interaction with your business.
Maintain respect
Respect and professionalism are paramount. Avoid posting content that may be harmful, offensive, or discriminatory. Steer clear of any deceptive, threatening, or unlawful behaviours.
Safeguarding personal information
Protecting personal data is crucial. Avoid sharing or posting sensitive personal information, including but not limited to names, contact numbers, and email addresses.
Navigating factual disputes
We do not remove reviews simply based on disagreements over content or ratings. BXB aims to be a neutral platform, and thus does not mediate factual disputes between businesses and reviewers.
Addressing defamatory content
While we champion freedom of expression, we also work to protect businesses from content that could cause unwarranted harm. If you believe a review is defamatory, you have the right to flag it.
Managing your business listing
Claim your business profile and utilize it to interact with reviewers, send invitations, and flag inappropriate reviews. Ensure the information on your business listing is accurate and transparent.
Ownership of reviews
Reviews are the property of the reviewers. They have the authority to edit or delete their reviews. Pressurising or bribing them to alter or remove their feedback is strictly prohibited.
Review flagging system
While we do not actively moderate reviews, businesses can flag those that violate our guidelines. Please ensure you flag reviews consistently and fairly, irrespective of their star rating. Your flagging activities are publicly visible for transparency.
Platform integrity
While we value freedom of speech, there are boundaries. If these guidelines are violated, we reserve the right to take corrective actions, which may include deleting comments, suspending account features, or more.
Final words
These guidelines serve as a framework to ensure a positive environment for both businesses and customers. We retain the discretion to interpret and apply these guidelines and can make updates as necessary. For more information or queries, you’re welcome to reach out to us at support@bxbapp.com
